Hello, Next week I shall receive my doctorate in geography. I have concentrated in the history of cartography and my dissertation concerns the nineteenth century American bird's eye maps and how content analysis contributes to understanding how and why the format of the maps changed, but the message of the maps did not. I'm now looking for a position where I can pursue my interest in nineteenth-century cartography but am having trouble convincing academia that GIS and the history of cartography are not mutually exclusive. Does anyone have any ideas about where my talents might be appreciated? Many thanks, Bobbie Williams
