A physician friend of mine, Dr. Ed Todd, gave me a small Coronelli map titled "Dominio E Dioce se del S. Monastero Cassinense" showing the area around Cassino, Italy with the famous monastary centered. He had been with American forces in WWII who watched while the monastery was destroyed. The map is a copper engraving, printed on hand laid paper, with the image measuring 12.8 mm high by 17.8 mm in width. It is unsigned but has the number 55 in the upper right hand corner. Because of the number and its small size I suspect it came from an atlas. I would appreciate any information anyone could give me about this map. The dealer who sold Dr. Todd the map years ago identified it as a Coronelli. It will become part of the Huntington Library's map collection.
