Relocation of the Maps Reading Room at the National Library of Scotland Francis helpfully bounced on an initial announcement on this last month, but just as a reminder, and for those who missed it... The NLS Maps Reading Room will be moving, with the new room opening on Tuesday 21 September. We will remain in the same building, but move to around the corner to enter from Causewayside at street level, so there will no longer be any stairs to climb. The Maps Reading Room will be closed from Saturday 18 to Monday 20 September inclusive. Whilst this change has been primarily driven by the need to expand our current Causewayside Building space for collection storage, there are a number of advantages of the new location, and we look forward to welcoming people to the new reading room.
