Hi Adele,
The AGS Library has a 1626 map from the 1627 "Prospect of the most
famous parts of the world" and can be seen here:

We have that 1676 volume but it lacks the world map.

you'd be surprised how many people don't know about this feature, so I

Dear MapHisters,
I am looking for the following map to reprint in a forthcoming
publication:
John Speed's "A new and Accvrat map of the World" (1651), in John
Speed's "The Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain," 1676.
The map needs to be (1) B&W, (2) in excellent condition, and (3) with
sharp and reproducible definition/boundaries as far as "Australia" is
concerned. It would also be useful if there were some way I could see
the image before purchasing it, since it is imperative that the coast
of Australia stand out as much as possible.
I've tracked down some lovely copies of the map in color (in the NYPL,
for instance, and online elsewhere). But I am trying as much as
possible to replicate the actual map that inspired one of my poets.
Does anyone/any collection own such a beast?
