Thank you to Francis Herbert for the information about the Google scans of Petermann's Mitteilungen...maps and texts. Unfortunately, when I looked at the scan of the first volume (1855) I found that not all of the maps are scanned completely--Google did not open the larger ones out to their full extent before scanning!
