Dear Maphisters, The New York Map Society and the Washington Map Society will meet at Princeton University's Firestone Library this coming Saturday, November 13th. There will be tours of the Library's "Strait Through" exhibition conducted by John Delaney. Also, a supplementary "Mapping the Strait" lecture conducted by John Woram, who has both lectured and authored books on Tierra Del Fuego and the surrounding region. The schedule is as follows: Group 1: 2:30 - 3:30 "Strait Through" exhibition tour 3:30 - 4:30 "Mapping the Strait" lecture Group 2: 2:30 - 3:30 "Mapping the Strait" lecture 3:30 - 4:30 "Strait Through" exhibition tour Both: 5:30 Dinner at Triumph Brewing Company For more details, see our "Meetings" page at _http://www.nymapsociety.org/MEETINGS.HTM_ (http://www.nymapsociety.org/MEETINGS.HTM) There are a few more open spaces as we've had recent cancellations. You do not need to be a member of either society to attend. However, you must RSVP to me within the next few days. If you can't join us this weekend, please make sure to see this exhibit. It's small, but brilliant. There are no "filler" maps and all the material is original. For anyone interested in exploration and maps it's a must see. Please also purchase one of the very limited edition catalogs before I buy Princeton out for the price. John Delaney has put together a modestly priced volume that should serve as an example to anyone trying to compile a exhibition catalog of interest to both map enthusiasts and the public in general.
