Dear list members, I would like to know if any list members know of maps dating from the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century which mark particular places with the label pirate(s) or piracy, or perhaps something similar. I am especially interested in maps of the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean (particularly Madagascar), although anything would be useful. I have asked this question of the cartography curators at the National Archives, National Maritime Museum and British Library (all London) and the National Library of Scotland and the National Archives of Scotland with little success. One of the suggestions made by the respondents was to ask the members of map hist discussion list.
