Dear Mrs Longenbaugh, There is no Dutch voyage known to the Aleutian islands in the 17th or 18th century. It is unlikely such a voyage would have escaped the attention of the Dutch authorities and especially the Directors of the East-India Company (VOC). The best recent study in the English language with information about the Dutch in the Pacific is in: Kees Zandvliet. Mapping for Money, Maps, Plans and Topographical Paintings and their Role in Dutch Overseas Expansion during the 16th and 17th Centuries. Amsterdam: Bataafsche Leeuw, 1998 (reed. 2002). This book includes information the voyages of Maerten Gerritsz Vries (1643) to Hokkaido , the Kuril Islands and southern Sakhalin and the expedition of Tasman & Quast to find Gold and Silver Islands east of Japan (1639). It is very likely that the Dutchness of Dutch harbor has another origin then a ship flying a red-white-blue flag.
