In Karen Coyle's UNDERSTANDING THE SEMANTIC WEB: BIBLIOGAPHIC DATA
AND METADATA (Library Technology Reports v.46 #1 January 2010; ALA
Publishing), maps are used at the beginning to explain the concept of
metadata. Perhaps not of interest in the history of cartography, but
worth noting.
