Johannes Werner (1468-1528) authored a translation of Ptolemy. One printing was done at Nurnburg in 1514, another in 1533 at Ingolstad. This could be Manuscript α, used for/or as an aid to Müller's translation. -- Tom Ikins The Roman Map of Britain http://www.romanmap.com _______________________________________________ MapHist: E-mail discussion group on the history of cartography hosted by the Faculty of Geosciences, University of Utrecht.
