Luis, Many thanks for your reply. At this point, this is by far the most simple and reasonable explanation. There is some information on the Ravenna Cosmography (circa 700 AD) on my web-site, specifically devoted to the British section. Most specialists, if not all, agree that the British section was copied from a Roman map. My work has been devoted to determining what influenced the author's choices and the order of the place-names he recorded.
