Dear list, The basis for the names of the directions of the Rose of the winds was the Mediterranean experience. When the explorers/sailors came to the Caribbean or to the Pacific Ocean, these names changed? Can somebody advise me further readings in this matter? Cordially yours, Cesar Adolfo Ávila
