Fellow mappers, I'm having some problems backing up my MI directories to tape. Most of it works ok, but one directory of large databases (each .dat is 60 to 70 Mb) presents problems. On verify or restore of this directory (using NT Backup, NT4 service pack 3), a hardware error is reported and the thing aborts. However, if I back up each .dat file and its related MI files separately to different backup sets on the same tape, no problems. Backing up the whole thing is much less than tape capacity. Is there possibly some conflict going on? Anyone had similar problems backing up MI files? I'm using an HP DDS3 tape drive, PII 400 machine with 128M.
