Title: RE: MI Printer/Plotter recommendation

Andreas

Several different brands of printer and peripherals.
Several different media sizes.
Cleaning ink off rollers.
Taping small sheets together.

All have been banished from our office with the purchase of an HP755cm colour inkjet plotter.

The 755 replaces an HP DesignJet 200, HP DeskJet 1000c, Epson Stylus 3000, and 2 Epson Stylus Pro's.

Utilizing the nesting ability of the 755 is saving us a considerable amount on our media budget - in fact by purchasing 36inch rolls instead of our previous A1,A2,A3 cut sheets we estimate a saving of between 40% and 45%.

Features such as roll feed, auto cutter, and self cleaning make life a breeze in the office nowadays.  Just knowing that we can leave the office for home, with a 100+ run of A3 planning maps printing, without having to return to clear paper jams or ink spills is fantastic.

With the wide format of the 755, large plans from our MapInfo GIS are no problem.

All our previous printers were used locally, with the 755 we operate it on our NT network so it is available to all who require it.

The HP755 without doubt was our number one best purchase for 1998!

Subject: MI Printer/Plotter recommendation

Hello List,

we are planning to buy a A2 (or larger) printer or plotter, mainly to be
used with MapInfo. Who can (or cannot) recommend a specific printer?

Any input is welcome, and I will resume.

Thanks,
Andreas
