There is a new version of the GeoBasemap Mapping System on our web site (
www.geobasemap.com ) to overcome compatibilty problems with the new MI v5.5
polyline definitions. (free download)
All customers should upgrade (even those without V5.5) as there are a few
new goodies.
The V5.5 MapBasic issue affected the line intersection tool. The good news
is that after rewriting to take advantage of the new V5.5 features, line
intersection runs an order of magnitude faster! Yes you can now select a
whole set of spagetti line work and intersect to break it into segments in
one pass. So despite all the pain, there are still some good points about
the MI 5.5 upgrade.
Our apologies for not having the fix out earlier - We needed the V5.5
MapBasic which took quite some time to get out to our part of the world.
Mapping System V2.2.12 is a free upgrade to all GeoBasemap Mapping System
V2 customers. The upgrade supports all systems from 4.1 to 5.5, but can
only execute the new (faster) line interseciton code on MI 5.5. We have
rushed the new version through out producting testing, but please email
immediately if you encounter any problems at all with the release.
Customers who downloade the interim V2.2.11 release should download the
V2.2.12 production release.
