Here's what happened. Our majordomo server has an overly zealous,
but totally brainless filtering mechanism. Anyone who puts the
words "sub", "subs", "subscribe", or the "unsub", "unsubscribe"
opposite anywhere within the the first ten (I think) of a message
to the list, gets his or her message gobbled up by the server and
it gets bounced to me to subscribe or unsubscribe them. I'm just
a little bit smarter than bait, so I know what you meant, but the
message gets pretty unreadable so it won't be useful to forward
it (with those words in it, it will only bounce again anyway.)
Your message started out with "Sub classing" on the first line,
the server picked it off.
I'll see if I can't get the server to stop this foolishness. If
people really want to get on or off the list, they should be
sending mail to the server anyway and not the list.
