You might want to look at Microsoft MapPoint 2000. I have a beta copy that
appears to have zip code and census tract data, although I can't seem to get
it to display the boundaries or labels. Makes pretty maps, though. Maybe the
full release will let you do that. The price is right (about $100, I think)
if it will do what you need.

I'd love to know of sources for "pretty" paper county/road maps
with
separate zip and census tract overlays. (I don't want to fiddle in
MapInfo for hours with thousands of census and zip code labels, and
even
if I did, it would never look as pretty as a "real map!")
My web connection is ridiculously quirky at the moment, and I'd
appreciate
a jump start.
(I've got http://aworldofmaps.com/ from my web site, and would like
to find other similar resources.)
BTW: I just called for a quote from A World of Maps. about $100 per
county
map for census overlays. Apparently 'ya pay for pretty...
