Antoine:
As others have politely pointed out, MapInfo itself can do the job just fine:
1) Select a line.
2) Goto the menu bar and select "Objects" and then "Set Target."
3) Select the overlapping/intersecting line or lines.
4) Goto the menu bar and select "Objects" and then "Overlay Nodes"
Of course I should have known how to do that myself! Thank you all for your
patience and the education.
