Dr. Watson has been part of the Windows family of operating systems since 
version 3 (maybe earlier). It is designed as an error diagnostic tool, 
typically invoked when a program crashes, by writing out lots of 
information about the system, the offending exe/dll, various memory 
registers, etc. to a log file.
