Next to the phone was a sign that read "All Calls are $100". The reporter asked a fan what the phone was for. "Oh, that phone there is a direct prayer line to God". The reporter took note of this as he continued watching the game. A week later, the reporter noticed the same phone in the Detroit Red Wings bench. "Would that be a direct prayer line to God?" he asked a page. "Yes," the page replied, "it is $100 per call". The reporter saw the same phone in all the benches of all the games he covered for his periodical, until one day he was in Dallas covering a Stars game. Looking to the Stars bench he noticed the same red phone. However, the sign next to it read "All Calls are .35 cents". Curious, he asked a local reporter why this phone was only 35 cents while all the other phones were $100 per call.
