I am creating an extremely complicated map -- over 250 layers, many of which have over 100,000 nodes, various fill patterns, etc. Layout window has several hundred objects. In other words, it's a real bear. Seems I have maxed-out my computers brain. Redraw time can be up to 10 minutes, sometimes it just shuts down! That said, does anybody have any advice as to what I can do to make sure I have the absolute best set-up possible? I don't understand all the RAM/ROM/Processing speed lingo, but, given the extremely tight deadline I am under, I MAY be able to get my IT dept. to spring for the best. Otherwise, I'll miss my deadline.
