I was wondering if anyone might be able to give me some ideas. I am an employee of the City of Waterloo, Canada. We are in the process of a long term analysis of the watershed associated within and around the boundary of the City. Part of the analysis process is monitoring fragmented City and Regional forests. One approach is in measuring the distance between the fragments and using grid analysis to monitor changes over time. There are over 200 fragments within the area and rather than using the ruler to measure each distance, I was curious to know if anyone has developed an application within Map info to accomplish the task with greater ease. Any suggestions in regards to this would be greatly appreciated. Another concept, I'm wondering, is that most studies in vegetation that I have encountered so far, are mapped with a raster format, then converted to vector. Is anyone familiar with this and if so, what is the significance if the mapping is from Meiss imagery? Thanks in advance for any responses Sincerely Cheryl Huxted ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this list, send e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and put "unsubscribe MAPINFO-L" in the message body, or contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
