Hello All:

I'm fairly new to Mapinfo, but have worked quite a bit with other desktop
mapping programs and national geodemographic systems such as Marketquest and
Infomark.

I need to be able to aggregate multiple demographic variables (20 or more) using
radii and custom polygons. Some of the variables, such as average age and
income, need to be weighted by the number of households and population in the
underlying geographic layer. A familiar problem for any of you who work with
demographics. All of the variables need to be aggregated using area weighting.

My question: How do I do this in Mapinfo using multiple demographic variables.
A Mapinfo tech support guy assured me that this could only be done ONE VARIABLE
AT A TIME using the "update column" menu. Surely this can't be so, in a package
that positions itself as a business GIS tool. I realize that TargetPro
addresses this issue using Polk data, but for internal customer demographics
this solution won't work.

Thanks for any help,

Berk Charlton
