I have had this problem on a couple of occasions now and I am hoping someone can tell me what exactly is going on. I have a map with several layers, the majority being from a .dwg file containing base mapping recieved from an outside source and one layer which was digitized in house and added to that .dwg file. When I try to edit and/or draw more linework on any of these layers, my drawn linework "jumps" to another area of the map and appears as a straight line even if I have drawn a different shape or polygon. I have seen this before in other cases where I have tried to copy existing linework to another table or to the cosmetic layer. I suspect it has something to do with the coordinate system, projection, or extent of the digitizing. I am able to draw on the cosmetic layer okay but at times even this becomes finicky. Can someone explain this so I may avoid it in the future? Right now my map has been converted from the .dwg file in the projection non-earth meters. Is this the problem? Thanks in advance.
