Tim,
We have an HP750C+ with an HP JetDirect network connection on our NT
network and WIN95 workstations. We have produced long plots without
problems. In the Page Setup dialogue, you can select 'Other' [or
'Custom'?] for plot dimensions rather than one of the standard sizes.
This will open a second dialogue which allows you to set height and
width to any size. The Page Setup dialogue is necessary if you are
plotting a layout; otherwise, if you are merely printing from a map
window, you can access the above dialogues through the Print | Printer
Properties dialogue.

The HP750C driver provides an option to process 'in computer' rather
than in printer and to set 'auto-rotation' on [if that is appropriate
for your layout]; we use these setting whenever the plotting job looks
like it will place a heavy demand on the HP750C - this to save time and
wasted media if there is a chance of printer memory overload.

72" is the maximum length that we have plotted - this was also a raster
plot using MapInfo 4.5, so the MI/HP combination 'will' do what you
want.
