The Arc/Info E00 file is an ascii export file which is kind of like a MapInfo
MIF file and a MID file combined into one. The E00 file is divided into
sections, with the INFO section being roughly equivalent to the MID file. But,
based on the ArcLink msg file you included, there is no INFO section.
ArcLink triggers its translation based on the INFO section. It indexes the
geometry, and then when it hits the INFO section, it glues together the geometry
and the data. But, since there is no INFO data section, it doesn't do anything.
This should be fixable using Arc/Info and doing a BUILD command. This should
construct a default set of data, and the export file of this built should
convert.
ArcLink assumes that the E00 file has gone through a BUILD command. This file
looks like it has not been built.

Hi,
I have been tryng to convert an Arcinfo .e00 file to mapinfo using arclink
which is supplied with mapinfo version 5.5. The conversion runs
successfully, except that no mapinfo file is created! I've tried
converting to a .tab file and to a .mif file but the same thing happens
both times. Arclink runs successfully, but no file is created (see arclink
output below). Does anyone have any ideas about what I might be doing
wrong?? Why isn't a .tab or .mif file created?
