I must be one of the lucky ones in the fact that our network saw the virus
and deleted the files before it passed the message over to my computer.

Subject: MI OBS Virus on Mapinfo-L (explore/zipped_files.exe)
Importance: High

Hi

In response to a posting on mapinfo-l, i recived a reply with an attached
file. The text was:

I received your email and I shall send you a reply ASAP.
Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs.
The name of the zip'ed file was
zipped_files.exe
This file contains a very nasty worm, which deletes files on your computer
and spreads via e-mail (by answering incoming e-mails). I have expected a
ziped file and thought my antivirus software would have stopped it.
Our anti virus software did'nt catch it and i has destroyed several files on
on network (it's also deleting files on at networkshare if it's mapped)
There is a description and instructions on dection/removal on
http://vil.nai.com/vil/vpe10450.asp
