MrSid, from ArcView, *. SDW georeferenced images to MI

I currently have a set of georeferenced MrSid DO's prepared for use in ArcView with the extension *.SDW. projected in NAD83 in feet, State Plane Mich. South   MI 5.5. will read MrSid files but requires to the best of my knowledge re-registration or so does the "big book" suggests (page 303). This defeats the purpose of the exact DO's registration.  Has anyone tackled this one, and if so how?
