Over last few months, we have been providing in-house training.
Through the process a some questions have been asked. Most of the
questions have been answered either through reading the manual or
research the archived MapInfo FAQ.
Here are some that I haven't been able to complete:
1. Under the Options/Preferences - MapWindow, some of the changes were
not honoured by MI. The user would select the metric distances and
area units. I understand that the changes will not hold for current
map windows previously opened. This was not the case. Has anyone else
experienced similar behaviour?
2. Labelling with Expression. Within the layer control, label option
selection, you can label with expression. Whenever I have proceeded
with this, the result was labelling with T/F. Any suggestions?
3. The process of sorting points. Is there a way to sort the graphical
object themselves. For example, when you create a thematic map for
points there may be certain values you would rather see in front
rather than hidden behind some other points. Suggestions?
4. Convert Surfer grids into MI MID/MIF or TAB files? I am aware of
the Surfer to Vertical Mapper utility. Is there one for MI?
5. Upgrading to MI 5.5. When I initiate MI I receive a warning window
"You must open a table before continuing". I close the window, and
proceed with MI. Has anyone else experienced this when they upgraded?
These are some questions that have been on my "To Do List" for some
time. Any suggestions are welcome. TIA.
