I have 190+ layouts saved as workspaces and I pick and choose which
layout I want to use, modify, insert a map window and to print.
I have two identical Dell Dimension XPS300 machines and am running
MapInfo Pro v4.5.
One machine was opening a workspace (layout) in about 1 second.
The other machine was opening the same workspace in about 13 seconds.
Both machines had MapInfo installed in the same path:
c:\program files\mapinfo\professional\.....
What caused this difference in time required to load a workspace?
NOW- after removing MapInfo and re-installing to the path
C:\MAPINFO due to a requirement by SoilTec SGIS installation, both
machines are slow in loading the same workspace but the machine which
was initially slower is now a second or two faster than the machine that
was the fastest.
