Howdy MapInfo-L netizens, Several of you have noted that the MapInfo-L mirror site at MapInfo's TestDrive center has temporarily stopped including the correct "From:" address of the people who sent in the messages. It's been pointed out to me that often people prefer to respond to requests for help and advice privately rather than to clog the list with a multitude of similar responses. (and BTW, it's the duty of the person who asked for help to summarize these responses into a single message and post that back to the list... surely you didn't think that using this list was all one-way with no obligations? ;-) Anyway, you should always include your real return address somewhere in your message if you want to get help from people who might not be able to read the "From:" field of the posted message. This situation MapInfo's TestDrive mirror site should be fixed soon, but for those of you who just can't wait, try the other web-based mirror site for MapInfo-L at http://www.mail-archive.com/mapinfo-l%40lists.sni.net/. And one more thing. The address that is currently being listed on MapInfo's mirror site is actually my list owners account. If you want to respond to the list, then use [EMAIL PROTECTED], not this address. Use the owner address ONLY if you have questions or problems with using the mailing list. I get hundreds of "broken server", "help with subscribe/unsubscribe" and spam messages at the owner account every day, and so I can't take any extra time to forward mail to the list or respond to it myself.
