Here is my situation:
Map Info calculates the region's centroid as the centroid of one of the
region's polygon.
I need to have the centroids for each polygon within the region. So, I
need the algorithm to find a polygon's centroid by its nodes
coordinates.
Simple geometrical center of the polygon may lay out of the polygon
border and does not solve my problem.
Does anyone have the idea of the algorithm to find the polygon centroid?
Here is another problem. How to find the centroid for the "bagel"-shaped
region with a hole inside? Map Info always puts the centroid on the
region body, but never on the hole area. How to calculate the
coordinates of such a region?
Any ideas or references to the existing algorithms are very welcome.
