Well yes there is a simple way to do what you want. In a mapper window, make your table editable, and select your 2 non-object records - put them in a separate browser. Now pick (select) one of them, go to map, pick a point-making tool (with a symbol that you like) and mark it where it belongs. Presto! Now go do the other one... of course if you had a hundred, it would be rather a bitch
