Greetings Listers!
I would like to save a series of layouts as windows metafiles (wmf) to send
to a publisher. Each of these layouts shows a ranged thematic map layer of
bird density, along a survey route, in which density is illustrated at
various survey spots using round MI symbols of increasing size. However
when I save the layout window to a wmf file two things happen: 1) size of
any text labels on the layout become slightly smaller (labels on base map
remain same size), and 2) the sizes of the round MI symbols which illustrate
density increase, which causes the legend (which I show inside a separate
frame on the layout) to run off of the right and bottom frame edges. (when I
open the wmf on my computor, the legend in fact appears more skewed than
what is printed out from that wmf file) Because these 'maps' are to be
published in a journal, they need to be very precise and accurate, so these
wmf files are not good enough. Any suggestions on how I can retain the
exact appearance of the layout (ie the printed hard copy of it) in a format
of high enough quality for the publisher? Or if my present symbol use is
the problem ('mapinfo symbol' - filled round spot with halo), are there
alternative symbols I could use on future projects? I am more concerned
about the changing point size , than the changed font size.
Thanks for any feedback!
