There is a free demographic report demo available under
www.mapinfo.com/targetpro which utilizes a small subset of TargetPro
functionality. The ReportZone service (www.reportzone.com) is another
example which incorporates some thematic mapping of select demographic
variables. Each of these applications was written under MapXtreme/NT by
calling out to exposed functions in the TargetPro DLL.
SRC (www.extendthereach.com) has also developed several sites built upon
TargetPro.
Given the large number of supported geographies and demographic variables,
one of the largest obstacles is designing an interface allowing arbitrary
selection of each. For geographies, the TargetPro v2.5 API provides a
mechanism for traversing the geographic hierarchy and this can be used to
build selection interfaces; however, the API does not currently provide an
interface for accessing all registered demographic variables.
