Saw this go over the AkeView list today. I was wondering if there were any
opinions on the pending MapInfo Professional 6.0 potential....

Subject: [AV] A great response

ArcView - http://members.home.net/whuber

This morning I sent out a message regarding the insight and development of
the ArcView V. 4.0 software and got a slew of responses. Thanks to all that
contributed. The common themes were that Avenue will be supported, VB will
be introduced and the hope that Avenue will be developed into a
COM-compliant scripting language.

It was kind of a heads up for everyone to see what their thoughts were on
the development side of things for ESRI.

I also have another question. I am interested in developing a macro to pull
a few tables from an Oracle database through ODBC. I would like to access
it on the fly through MS Access w/out making changes to the database side on
the server. It would be kind of like getting the external data and using
ODBC, but I would like it automated so when I open up the Access database,
you press a button the the old tables get erased and the new tables for that
day are brought in. Seems to make sense to me.

I am sure someone has come across this same approach.

Thanks to all,
