This message is for MI newbies who are NOT computer gurus: Started having massive printing problems with my MapInfo program this week (I switch between a color and B/W printer), encountered the following message: "Assertion failed: file l:\Released\SHELTER\BUILD16\xvtwin\src\WPRNT.c, line 524, Using cached DC with different printer information." After I clicked 'ok' I got kicked out of the MapInfo program. Panic call to MapInfo techie line. They had me log on to their website and download a patch to fix it. Apparently version 5.5 remembers the print settings which can hose the works. Funny that it worked just fine for months. Anyway following is where I went: www.mapinfo.com then click on Free! then click on the 5th bullet "For more MapInfo Professional downloads and patches" then click on MapInfo Professional v5.5.0.26 Upgrade/Patch Installation and follow the instructions. Am back to being a happy MapInfo camper! <;)))>< Back from the past!
