Dear List,

Does anyone have any experience with ODBC errors on a network LAN where
Office 97 Pro. is accessed via their network.  My problem is ODBC errors
each time I run MapInfo 5.5.  A DLL fails to load and MapInfo halts then
when the ok button is pushed on the errors popup window MapInfo exits. 
My feeling is that the LAN version of Office 97 Pro is checking the
drivers on the local machine it updates them to whatever the network
thinks is supposed to be their and thereby overwriting some MapInfo ODBC
drivers, thus causing the error.  Does this sound plausible, I say
plausible as this is certainly not reasonable, at leas from my
standpoint.  Our government department is going with several
installations of MapInfo 5.5 and everyone will probably have the same
problem, in fact I think some already have.  I have been using MapInfo
5.0 from a standalone (non networked) PC and doing raster dumps from the
layout window then printing them from a photo editing package or Power
Point, not very elegant but it works and is 'hard wired' and easily
distributed throughout the office.  Their are two installations of
MapInfo 5.0 on networked machines and they work fine.

Any suggestions before I hassle tech support at the office.
