For image georectification in MI you can look up Rastools at
http://members.aol.com/MapTools/
MapInfo does use an affine transformation for image registration without
resampling and true north orientation.
It also depends what type of image you intend to process and what
accuracy you need - a scanned map, an aerial photo, a multispectral
image. Do you need orthorectification (See PCI geomatics) ,
rubbersheeting (Rastools/Vector Vision) or georectification (Blue
Marble/MapInfo)? Do you what to mosaic your images together
(BlueMarble/PCI)... etc...
Different tools for different jobs. That is the nature of mapping.
Their is a free product for ArcView users called RIFT. (But this is a
MapInfo list)

Good day, list
Is there any way to perform affine or polynimial trasformation of an
imge using some special MI tools, and where can i get something to do
this job.
As i could understand there are only image registration tools
available, and all other transformers (like bluemarble) are rather
expensive.
Any help would be appreciated
Best regards,
