Hi Mosman Council is advertising a GIS trainee Position in the Sydney Morning Herald on Tuesday 7th March. GIS TRAINEE OFFICER Scholarship with Mosman Municipal Council Mosman Council wishes to provide a career opportunity for a person studying GIS at TAFE or University. You would apply your ongoing knowledge and experience and be involved in data capture, graphical output and other GIS functions and tasks for all sections of the Council. Over time you would build an in-depth and generalist knowledge of MAPINFO and the organisation's GIS activities and IT systems. You would need some working knowledge of Geographical Systems, an aptitude for PC work, a willingness to contribute to a team approach, an internal customer focus and a keen sense of learning. In order to attract this person and to provide an incentive to remain employed with the Council into the longer term, Council would be providing financial assistance with tuition fees, a salary component, broad job experience and would be seeking some reimbursement of tuition payments under the terms of a stipulated employment agreement if the person chose to leave during the term of scholarship. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council's Spread of Hours and Enterprise Agreement with staff. Salary component will be based on an average 21 hour week at Council and is dependent on competency and performance.
