I have learned the basics of MI 5.5 and use it almost daily now as part of
a performance monitor for our nationwide tracking system.
I deal with large files (20Mb +) , so I always convert my data to Tab files
before any manipulation.
It would really be a timesaver for me to automate my routines but I can find
almost no information on this subject, either at the MI site or anywhere
else.

Can you experts point me to some resources?

Some specific questions:

Are there any good ADVANCED books out there ( I don't want to pay $50 for a
book on basic stuff I already know)

Do I need Mapbasic to automate map building or can it be done just with
Visual Basic 5 - which I already have.

Can I create Icons that can be run from the MI interface to perform routine
tasks - eg using "Points" to geocode Lat/Lon on a table.

Are there any websites with examples of above?

Is there a way of using General Dates in MI. The Date field type seems to
strip out time so queries don't work.
 E.g. I want to select all records between 3/1/00 3:30:00 and 3/2/00
15:45:00.
Yes I could use separate time fields, but that gets very messy when you do
comparisons crossing midnight!

MI won't read Access 2000 tables - is there a patch in the works?

My HP 1120 tabloid sized inkjet is VERY slow and sometimes hangs. Any tips
for optimizing the print driver in Win 98?

Thanks

Bill
