Hi David,
Forget Toshiba Tecra8000's. We have used PII266 and PII300's neither with
much success. More than 50% of the time when you exit, MapInfo makes
Windows 'Blue Screen'. This has happened with both MI4.52 & 5.5
On a worthwhile note though, adding RAM really helps. We now have 128MB in
all our laptops and it makes a huge improvement.
Thanks
Mark

We really like the VIAOs form SONY. Super packaging and very high quality.

Subject: MI MapInfo and Laptops (Notebooks) Any comments?
Anyone care to share their war stories or love stories , good/bad,
running MI on their PC portable?
I'm soon to be getting a laptop and still have time to make spec
changes. Would like to know such things as; "Trouble running MI with
the Celeron processor" Other processors, AMD PII, III? Any
significant advantage to running 128mb of RAM (or more).
...would appreciate your feedback
Thanks,
