Greetings,

I thought you might be interested in new maps that NYPIRG's Community
Mapping Assistance Project has posted on the Web.

The maps portray the latest county-by-county Census data showing a major
population shift between upstate and downstate New York State from 1990
to 1999. The maps and data are designed to give the public its first
glimpse into possible reapportionment changes in New York. The analysis
indicates that upstate New York may lose one State Senate seat and two
Assembly seats.

The maps and analysis can be accessed via a link at NYPIRG's homepage
(http://www.nypirg.org), or through NYPIRG's Community Mapping
Assistance Project (http://www.cmap.nypirg.org/nyspopshift90-99.htm).

Feel free to contact us if you'd like more information. You can contact
NYPIRG's Legislative Director Blair Horner (518-436-0876) or me
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) for more information.

Thanks.

Steve Romalewski
