Myles,

Vertical Mapper can solve your problem. This is a fast three step process
where the first step is to use the Poly-to-Point utility to generate a point
file from the contour lines. Next, with one of the five interpolation
techniques you can create a grid surface representing the elevation
information. Finally, the Point Inspection utility is implemented which
creates a new column in your man hole cover point file and updates it with
the elevation value from the grid. I have done this many times before and
it generally takes about twenty minutes.

Subject: MI Contour Line Query

Any assistance on this would be greatly apprciated.

I have a table of manholes (with co-ordinates) but don't have any ground
levels.
(Manholes are drawn as dots)

I have a table of contour lines (topographical lines of elevation) (The
contour
lines are drawn as polylines imported from CAD)

Does anyone know of a method in which I can query out the contour line
closest
to a manhole and then update the ground level data in the manhole table with
the
elevation in the contour line table?

Thanks in Advance.

Myles
