John:
I have used the special edition of Blue Marble's Geographic Tracker that
comes bundled with Mapinfo 4.5 with a Garmin GPS 35/36 GPS Receiver with
no installation or operational problems whatsoever. There are not a lot
of bells or whistles to the program, but for basic tracking and
geo-coding it is really kind of slick. All in all, the program performed
just as its Users Guide describes and I have no reason to believe that
the full-blown Geographic Tracker 3.0 wouldn't perform as advertised.
The program has performed so well, in fact, that I have had no reason to
contact tech support - but I notice that the Blue Marble Users Guide for
the special edition Tracker specifically states that Blue Marble does
not support the special edition of Tracker when operated within Mapinfo
and refers all tech support issues involving special edition Tracker
to Mapinfo tech support.
