Looks like the best solution is one I considered some time back.
Just drop the "1/2" out of the address.
For anyone else this may be of interest to. Speaking with several of
the "addressing authorities" of the cities I am working on, they
indicated their desire to eliminate the "1/2" identifier in a "house
address" field. In addition to the idea of dropping the character
completely, it has been proposed to go with an alpha. identifier when
required
(ie 123 -A Maple St.) I will note that as long as the letter is
preceded with a hyphen, Mapinfo appears to handle the address quite
well, even if followed by a directional prefix
(ie 123 -A S Maple St) But remember . . . a hyphen is required or
the address is no good.
