  The intentional degradation of civilian-grade GPS signals (known as
Selective Availability) has now been judged to be unnecessary and
will be switched off at midnight tonight, May 1, worldwide.

  What does this mean?

  Now, consumer-grade GPS units will have a positional accuracy several
times better than they previously did. SA limited single-unit GPS fixes
to typically no better than 50-100m accuracy. Estimates are that with SA
off, these units could be from 0m to 70m more accurate.
