Try closing down Mapinfo and restarting the program.  Sometimes, however because of 
Windows, it's a general memory issue.  I hate the 3 R's of Windows as much as anyone 
else (retry, reboot, reinstall), but you have to rule that out.  Very often at the end 
of a work day I need to reboot to remediate goofy things my pc is doing, and I am 
runnning a Pentium-II 300 w/128MB RAM, Windows 98.  Afterward, things are fine.
