The solution offered was ensure the 4 basic MapInfo files (*.dat, *.tab, *.id, *.dat) were all located in the same folder when copying them. This included files of 0kb. It seems that one has to manually open the tables from each folder instead of opening from the *.tab listed under the File menu. This does not always work. -----Original Message----- From: Litea Biukoto [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, 12 April 2000 10:23 To: MapInfo-L (E-mail) Subject: MI Missing *.ID Hi When opening tables from different directories I usually get a message "File *.ID not found". The message pops up regardless of whether the files are on the same drive or on different drives. I operate on Windows NT, MapInfo 5.5. I did notice the same problem with the previous version of MapInfo but only with files located on different drives. I am down to getting the machine rebuilt however any other non-invasive solution shall be much appreciated. TIA.
