Hi has anyone managed to integrate an ActiveX component built in Visual Basic 6 with MapInfo Professional using MapBasic and a wrapper VB exe? I would like to call a VB exe that references a custom VB component and passes back to MapInfo information or an event. For example I want MapInfo Professional to be open with an active map. From a VB exe that is also running I would like to recenter the currently open map and active from the EXE. I was hoping to do this using the MapInfo Object and OLE Automation from my VB app. I dont want a containerised map to be updated within my VB app, rather the actual MapInfo map open in MapInfo professional. Any comments or ideas would be most welcome. If anyone has seen Geomedia Pro and there use of command Dll's built using VB - I would like to be able to mimic this using the automation exposed by MapInfo. I dont want to have to build a VC++ DLL or use a VB EXE and DDE. I await your responses.
